My Grandmother made bunnies with clothes on for all of us as kids. I still have them. When she died my Aunt took all her fabric and made all the Grandkids quilts and the daughter and daughter in laws purses. I love it so much! I use it everyday and feel a little closer to her when I wrap myself in it. I learned to quilt from my Grandmother 16 years ago and although I'm only 36, I hope to leave a quilt behind for each of my 4 children and my future grandchildren. ❤
I wish more of today's youth could find the peace and pride in making a quilt start to finish. What lucky children to get that memento from you. Luv this!! We did this with my Grandma's scarves (aside from all the blankets, hats & gloves over the years).
They put their love into their crafts so we can still hold it when they're gone. Aw we love this photo! Thank you for sharing! When my mother died, she also was an avid quilter as well as her garden. only had gravesidd services, her coffin was draped with one of her quilts instead of flowers. and each one of her children laid roses fromher garden and grandkids laid lilies from her garden on her coffin. My grandmother made a cathedral window design quilt with pillow shams years ago. It has draped every deceased familymember's casket for the last 20 plus years. It's also on display in her memory at weddings. She, too, made quilts for all of us.

They are priceless treasures!!! We don't use it on anyone's bed. It's in a glass and wood box where it stays nice. We did this at both Grandma & Mom's funerals. They both loved to quilt. Grandma left each of her 11 grandchildren 2 quilts + 4 daughters each received 3. When Mom died, she left each of her grandchildren a quilt as well as a crocheted handkerchief. Such gifts....cannot be duplicated. Carly could you imagine laying out all the quilts you've made and gathered for children, wounded veterans and others? Quilts tell a story and this one is beautiful! Looks like the Sunday of the week we send the quilts out to those in need in the community and around the world thru Lutheran World Relief.

Some of the church's ladies make over 100 Quilts in a year. This is just beautiful that you remembered her in that way. My mother-in-law made blankets and bedspreads for us for many years. Also made baby clothes for my twin boys who are now 23 years old. I cannot part with any of them. I have to keep them to pass on to my family. She put such love into everything she made. I love this! I have two quilts my grandmother made me that I sleep with every night! They are torn and tattered, but I feel close to my grandmother every night. Her quilts are her loving arms around me as I sleep. My mom was a quilter and she had wanted to do this for my cousins. She didn't make it to give her precious gifts away. I gave out a quilt to each of my cousins the following Christmas. Mom's quilts are all over the country and in my home too. She lives on through her handiwork and the memories. Love you, Mom. What a beautiful tribute to their Samuel L Jackson Incredibles Shirt. Makes me remember my late Grandmother and all her beautiful quilts. She loved her quilting bees. I especially loved her patchwork quilts and the state flowers and state birds quilts she made for us. I still cherish them today. when I die you know what to do with my ashes (wink, wink). I want you to have people bring my quilts to a celebration of my crazy life and display them somehow- clothesline is fine. Just love this idea!! My Mother had a notebook she'd write down quilts in, what the weather was like, who might have stopped by on that day and so on. I just wished she'd have wrote every quilt down that she made.
Mother was always famous for the materials she put on the back of her quilts. She'd use what she had and sometimes that backing might be pretty "special".
Oh how we enjoy our quilts, esp. now since Mother is gone and we no there will be no more quilts. My mom, who is 92, has done same thing, and made them for all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. All different, and made specifically for each I Love Titties And Hennessy Shirt. What a treasure! She is working in her last one. We are so blessed by this incredible woman. My grandma made a quilt to give to each grandchild when they got married. She already has those that aren't married yet done....just in case she isn't here. One of my most cherished items, along with wood projects that my grandpa made for me. ounds like my parents too...quilts from Grandma for everyone's high school graduation and wooden models of some kind from Grandpa. My Grandma Strohecker does something similar. All couples received a quilt in the 80's. then she made a quilt for each grandchild, great grandchild and yes great, great grandchildren. Also has many extras for the new babies. Love this tradition. My mom now crochets an Afghan for each niece/nephew and grandkids. I like to be crafty so I am sure I will start a tradition too! Beautiful and all so very diffierent. My paternal grandmother crochet all 16 of her grandchildren a knee rug or single bed blanket. 46 years later I still have mine as most of my cousins and siblings do too. I used to wrap my children up in mine when they were sick as I now do to my grandchildren when they are restless. I hope you don't take offense to this but this reminded me of you ❤ (in a good way!) I love that you spread your kindness and love through hand made gifts. My grandmother made each of us, her kids, her grand kids and great grand kids Christmas stockings and afghans. I wouldn't take anything for them. Unfortunately she died before finishing them for Rip Xxxtentacion 1998 2018 Shirt. I don't have her talent but my daughter does and she's made dolls for all of us in our family. I love that. You can buy a blanket at any store, but you can't buy the love, care, and thoughtfulness in handmade quilts.
