evidenced by power slides and wheelies. I remember a comment by Cal Cruthlow
when the current ECU was introduced -"the bikethought it was
somewhere else so it stopped the engine".Have you guys been
watching lately? MotoGP has had the best racing of pretty much any form of
Motorsport I can think of in recent years. About the only thing that has
rivalled it for on track battles has been the rally cross... Which let's be
honest, it's bumper cars on steroids.
Sure the electronics help, but it still takes massive balls to ride one of these things at the limit when your shoulder is on the ground in some turns. True but it’s not the same as the days when the slipper clutch was the riders left hand. If you notice them downshifting they just slam the thing down through the gears and let the bike do the work. Apex and then open the throttle wide without regard to wheel spin cos traction control. It used to be 80% rider and 20% bike but now it’s the other way round. Back in the day (doohan days) lead riders used to lap the back markers where these days there’s seconds in it. I’m not dissing the riders they are indeed a different breed of human but I think the riders of days gone by were a different breed again. I miss the old days when the bikes were animals to be tamed. I’ll admit it has made the sport much safer for riders and has produced a different yet still spectacular riding style. If you think these things are anything but animals these days you're kidding yourself. They're just a different sort of beast. The rider still makes the difference, that's why for years the only names you'd see on the winners list was Rossi, Lorenzo Pedrosa and Stoner. Recently it's expanded to include Marc and Dovi on a regular basis with occasional guest appearances by Crutchlow or Iannone and some others. But thats no different to years past and it's still a very short exclusive list of riders that could actually win on any weekend. Without rain or a major first lap bungle most of the guys or the grid are chasing positions 7 and down.

As to why the back markers aren't lapped as easily (it still happens regularly), the overall talent and preparation of the field has gone up. The back markers in motogp have mostly been riding at world championship level since they were 14 or younger. They generally have 4-6 years of hard competition and proving themselves in the lower ranks before even getting thought of for a seat. Almost all of them are some form of moto2/250 or 125/moto3 champion if not regular winners in the junior classes. The sport has evolved and the guys that make it to the top are way more prepared than in years gone past. A modern gp bike is a indeed a I Am A Marvelaholic Shirt but a 2-stroke 500 was something else altogether. Marquez is quoted as saying he would never ride one and those that did were nuts. Each to their own I guess ... I still miss the old days but can appreciate the new ways. Personally if I were to get out on the track again I’d want a bike with minimal electronics. For me it’s about mastering he machine rather than holding onto it while it does it’s thing on my behalf. Either way ... if you can even qualify for a MotoGP race you’re a bloody legend! Why don’t they just put gps on them. Or make it fun and put two strokes back in. Gold is a soft metal, this bike would probably warp after going over a few bumps not to mention the gears would probably break after it shifts. I was going to say the same thing. It would bend in half quick. And if it's just plated then why is so expensive… I wonder why we don't have gold.for electrical connectors. Now I know why. Wasting the shit on jewelry and plating bikes.

raccoons and ferrets have. Wierd. It's
totally an aluminum bike that is gold plated, solid gold would be much too
heavy for him to lift it so effortlessly. Especially the way I ride. I'm not easy on my bikes, mine
was specifically set up for trails and bmx, so it could take a Rick And Morty Run The Jewels Shirt and keep
on ticking.
Well guess what, the rear rim is bent all to hell and cracked, tubes need to be replaced, shifting cables/brake cables need to be replaced, brakes need to be replaced, sprocket needs to be replaced, kickstand needs to be replaced, just about everything but tires shocks, frame, and front rim
