Chris Evans Immigrant Tee

Thor Ragnarok was pretty fun, but with enough holes in it to make me think there's a practical limit on how good these franchise comic book movies can be. I liked that the structure felt more like a months-long Marvel storyline than a traditional film, with a lot of jarring setting shifts and multiple surprise character entrances and cameos. I appreciate how they've stopped walling off genres. This is a movie with spaceships, fire dragons, undead warriors, wormholes, magic, swords, and machine guns, and it's all the better for it. They let Taika Waititi abandon the blue-grey drudgery of the earlier Thor films, and they let him fill most of the movie with droll humor and eccentric line readings. I was also surprised to see that for a director with no big-action experience, the fight scenes were shot with clarity and in a couple of cases, tangible force. It's an effects-heavy film, but it doesn't always go to the well -- the Dr. Strange scene gets a lot of mileage out of good old-fashioned jump cuts. On the other hand, Cate Blanchett's villain dialogue is just heartbreakingly bad. She's game, and her nonverbal performance is wonderful, but everything she has to say is a predictable threat. Anthony Hopkins is also squandered as Odin. There's two second-in-command bad guys who are cast and costumed interestingly that don't get to follow through and do anything. And it's bizarre that years from now, people are going to win bar bets proving that Idris Elba was, in fact, a recurring character in the MCU. One of the most physical, charismatic actors of this generation, and he's been completely wasted. He's been in fully five of these movies, and you have no idea who Heimdall is. Jeff Goldblum is great. Mark Ruffalo is great, and so is the joke that his wardrobe for this movie is Tony Stark's Duran Duran t-shirt. Tom Hiddleston is super entertaining, although Loki has changed allegiances so many times at this point that it's hard to really invest in his connection to Thor for even a minute. And Chris Hemsworth is really terrific.

Review Chris Evans Immigrant Tee

Chris Evans Immigrant Shirt
Increasingly the Marvel movies are all just one serial, but unlike Chris Evans in his own Captain America: Civil War Hemsworth is 100% the lead in this movie, and he kills it. It's rare for an action hero to be this funny without leaning on mean-spirited sarcasm. It probably helps that there's so many British/Australian/New Zealander talent in Thor Ragnarok. Hemsworth makes Thor cheerfully fallible without making him stupid or weak. You feel like his run is just getting started while Evans and Downey Jr. are on their ways out. However many more Thors they do, Tessa Thompson should be in all of them. But with good acting, good direction, and a (mostly) good Families Belong Together Shirt, there's still some gigantic, elementary filmmaking mistakes. Thompson's character flips motivation without us seeing it. A huge army ends one scene on one planet then shows up in the middle of another scene on a different planet. In both cases it seems like an important linking scene was cut just for the sake of pace. They kept the thing just over two hours, which counts as restraint in this field, but given Waititi's overall competence, you wonder why they couldn't spare five more minutes. And the obligatory setup for Avengers means as its own thing the movie ends on the wrong note. Are these movies going to continue getting more and more interrelated, to the point where there's no point in even giving them individual titles or stars? They seem to be trending that way. How they choose to go with the Black Panther sequels will be very interesting. I totally get why Chris Evans doesn't want to make any more Captain America movies, and they seriously need to take the training wheels off and let Spider-Man be Spider-Man. I guess the more stars they pack in the more money they make, and that's kind of the point -- the status of the MCU as top-priority corporate product ensures that they're never going to be made with an eye on true artistic greatness. Um, like comic books are? Also: They used "Immigrant Song" for a fight scene TWICE. I get that licensing Zeppelin songs is expensive and you want to get your money's worth, but these movies all cost a billion dollars anyway and there are, no question, a Hugs For Homers Shirt of 70's hard rock songs about thunder, leather, and hammers. You can look it up.  I hope that you had a great 4 th of July and that everything went well!xxxxxx  I didn't know it was possible for me to love Chris Evans more than I already do but this just proved I can πŸ˜ A controller designed by my son's hero why oh why is it $95.......
