Big cheers, many congratulations, and lots of well wishes from Austin. You
are the race hero. You are Houston strong. You are Texas strong.
You should be honored at this year’s HEB Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade for your tenacity and for your contributions to the city’s Velodrome. Allez, allez, allez, Lawson! "Lance" was the final straw for me a few years ago when I quit watching or paying attention. But, I flipped it on this year, began watching, and became intrigued by your story. I now consider myself your fan, and I will be watching and cheering for you next July. Well done, Lawson, and and an early "Good luck" on your next tour! Amazing accomplishment! My most fun part of the tour this year was rooting for you to still be on the finisher’s list every day. Congratulations Lawson! Way to persevere! You’ve made this tour a very special one and you’ve made Houston proud! Enjoy Paris, enjoy your rest. Houston is proud of you Lawson!! As a local racer, I'M proud of your courage, generosity, tenacity, and determination. What you've accomplished is HUGE and means so much to not just Houston, Texas - but the whole of the Nation! Yay, Lawson! The mental and physical fortitude you have shown during this year's Tour is something that you will carry long past your cycling career and help you overcome obstacles your entire life. Congrats! You’ve got this Lawson! I’ve done a 180 mike bike ride in Maine before, and that was a doozy.

However it doesn’t even compare to the Tour de France. Completing this race is enormous! You are an inspiration to all of those kids out there who feel that the world is against them and they have no chance. Persistence and grit are what you have. As a teacher I feel you are a wonderful role model. God bless!! The country is so happy for you, Lawson Craddock, and beyond proud of you. You are what makes America great, you are an American hero and a fine example of what persistence and belief in oneself can accomplish. Congratulationsand best wishes for a bright future. So amazed at what you have done, when so many people, even some of your fellow riders, would have quit under less circumstances. You, my friend, are what heroes are made of. Look forward to following you in the years to come. And you set a record all the same: the only TDF rider to be last in the GC every single day, but stick to it to the end. That's courage, that's determination. In the years to come, when you're healthy the whole way, there will be more records to savor! Would have loved to see you get the super-combative award to top it off!

Your adventure has encapsulated the spirit of the Tour in the gutsiest way possible. Congratulations on making it to the final stage, now bring it home! On to Paris it is! So well-deserved. Thanks for doing so well and representing the U.S., Texas and Houston in such a fine manner. Just to salute you for finishing after that horrible fall: you are AMAZING!!!! I have been a fan of the Tour for many, many years and there are few courageous like you. MERCI from a French admirer in New York. I looked for your 13 every day for 3 weeks!!! You are an example of willpower and determination. Truly hope you can help bringing your velodrome back to life and that more young kids will have a place to train and follow their dreams. Congratulations champ. You sir should be so proud of yourself riding injured from day one and to finish your first tour de france. And the size of your heart sir is greater than Texas. God bless you.
