Much
needed story in this day and age of cuts to the Arts and Art education in
schools Yes and Steve Hartman as a host was GREAT more of this please. Thank you for this profound story of a great educator. As
indicated, it is the lifetime impact this gentleman had on his students. It is
the good, demanding teachers that shape of person's life and help them
to define one's purpose and mission. I’ve
been watching CBS Sunday Morning since 1974! That story ( segment ) was one of
the best I’ve seen on the show! VERY HEART WARMING. Honestly, Steve Hartman always has the most heartwarming
stories! This one was particularly awesome, and shows ripples of what a
dedicated teacher accomplished. Steve Hartman is the best! You
guys got me in the feels again. Nearly every Sunday I get a good morning cry.
Reminds me that I'm human, I appreciate the heart of this show. Grab your
tissues. There’s always that one or two that make that everlasting impression.
Mine would have to be my 4th grade teacher Mrs Crum. She pushed and wrapped her
arms around me when she sensed I needed it. Mine is Jimmie B. Lobaugh. He
called my house all summer long to get me in 8th grade choir. We did dozens of
choral concrts, eight musicals and a one act operetta(heavy on the Gilbert and
Sullivan) together over my h.s. years, called all summer long! Glad you didn’t
put JIM Gaffigan on this story!
He would have crucified this teacher!

Hartman is a real asset.
Gaffigan is missing the “et” part. The stories were nice, heartwarming and all Hartman segments first on the Friday evening news before they rerun them again and again on Sunday morning show. Most of this was recycled, which is Ok if you missed it the first one or two times. I had a music teacher like that!! Saw the REAL me,wldnt let me get away w/a thing and ALWAYS called me out, when I BSed. Don’t know where he is or if he’s STILL around but Norman Speiser (of Midwood HS/Bklyn) THANK YOU!!! And,....I DID STOP! I also had a great chorus teacher...Lucy Aucella at Anatola Elementary School in SoCal...she was also my 1st grade teacher....The Best! I’ll never forget her! Sadly, she passed a few years back. What a wonderful positive story. Love seeing this

I however was appalled by the negative comments about M&M stores. Why was that even a story. Really if you can’t say something nice... Thank You very much for this story... Oh. So true... I know that the teachers in my life were the ones that expected the best ... and they taught you and gave you the skills to be the best you could Be! This brought tears to my eyes! My husband, now deceased, was a music teacher for forty years. Few know how much these teachers POUR their very souls into their work!!! It was a heart warming story and great that they all came together for a tribute. But I couldn't help wondering why they hadn't kept in touch through the years . What a beautiful Sunday morning it is....with Steve Hartman as host! He is genuine, friendly, down to earth.....everything phony Jane Pauley is not! I had two outstanding choral directors: Charles W Ziemer of Richfield HS, Mpls, MN, and James T McRaney of BriarLake Baptist, Atlanta, GA. This story brought tears to my eyes and I thought of them. She spoke and/or wrote such meaningful words from the heart. Thank you Maya Angelou blessings always and peace in your heavenly home with Our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
