I so endorse what you're
doing....but for those of us who are not brave enough/able to undertake such a
journey.....always look at the world through the eyes of a child. This can be
done on a daily basis if you make yourself aware of your surroundings and
always be kind to others and even kinder to yourself and you will not go far
wrong. I am 57 and have had my share of ups and downs, have tried to learn from
them and let them go....I have no regrets, thank the lord/universe for my
fortunate life and would not go back to yesterday for who knows what today may
bring. Living in Costa Rica I met a young American guy also biking
through central and south America.Unfortunately I saw him steal food in the
hostel kitchen. That's very optimistic and super cool that he's doing that. But
I think, I hope, that some time between your young 20's and 80's, that kind of
freedom isn't as feasible or realistic. Hopefully some moderation will keep him
enthused and productive. I already know this however, you still have to plan
for life, unless you are born with money in the bank. I save and plan my
vacations, and love the earth and all the beauty. It actually makes me
appreciate it even more. This guy is spot on. Therefore, my brethren, I urge
all of you.....pent up in the cogs of the great machine.........quit your jobs
in the toilet paper industry, get on a bike and
ride someplace else, and find yourself. And you Apple fools, same foryou, and
Windows guys, and phone people, get off line, go biking. Let's all learn to
make home made tortillas or flat bread, and cut down trees, and stuff so we can
cook them. Yeah right, forgive me if I don't buy into this utopia crap. Have a
nice life. For me yeah he is right...when you are in routine...you get bored
and stop...but life is life...living your life itself its not a routine....you
can do whatever you want...say a small leap is a big help to anybody or to
somebody to your country or to the planet itself....all im saying its that make
yourself productive, make yourself a life changer expecting nothing in return,
in that way you do happy things even if its out of routine....discover yourself
how to make an impact to others...on the way you live your life....in that way
your brain will never stop on thinking on what to do next....cause we do what
we need to do, so human race can and will survive.... as soon as I saw this I
knew it would be a white man. Must be nice to be able to sleep wherever you
want while traveling alone. Yrs ago took 2 month leave from job in CA, traveled
10,000 miles around USA in VW van. It was awesome! Travel was/is a huge part of
my lifestyle. Some great messages in there. But I don't think we all have to do
what he does to awaken the brain. Not everyone can or wants to. I think its
important to appreciate the little things and take the time to smell the roses
as it were. For me I split my weeks.
