We went out to eat last week, and the couple at the next table text through their whole meal. Did not talk to each other. When we can't talk to the people around us it is a shame. Do what my kids do to their kids, take all electronics up at the table and nobody gets them back until everyone has left the table. Good parenting and a good way to teach interaction with others. you go dad I hate it when people ask you to go to dinner or someplace and they spend the entire time on the phone or texting, very inconsiderate. Boy does this hit home. When I have Thanksgiving or Easter dinner this is what the kids do. They don't know how to talk to each other anymore. I have seen people in restaurants with their phone in their hands. Even my own boys and grandson do this, very aggravating. That is absolutely wonderful what the father did! I guess the sons got the whole idea. However, the Mom and Dad will have to see what happens next time. A month ago I snatched the phone right out of my boyfriend's hand at the dinner table. He was shocked and bewildered. It was a strong reaction but it got the point across. He always is pulling out his phone at dinner, particularly at restaurants, and not just to text. Sometimes to look something up related to conversation, or a million other things. I asked him for a 60 day moratorium at the table. He has complied. And got the point. So it ain't just kids. Doesn't help that he's an electrical engineer who loves his tech.
Love it ! Kids and Adults too don't realize that by texting at the table or when out eating, they are saying they don't care about the people they are with ; those on the phone are more important... Please think about that !!! My parents would have just said. If you would rather text than eat you must not be hungry so you can do without. Your Cobra Kai Never Dies T Shirt text or eat. Yup, I know that's what mine would have said if we had cell phones back then. You didn't even take phone calls at meal time. Talk about an addiction . Can people live without their phone? It can actually kill and people still do it . In cars, cancer from being in your pocket , poor grades in school etc. good luck America. Now that is AWESOME and gave me a great laugh. I teach so I know how kids are so distracted!!!!! :) Lucky my children are older and did not have phones when they came to dinner, so we had nice conversations. This made my day. I have been out to dinner and it seems that so many can't hold off to receive/send this important information. So sad. Is this text more important than the person you are with? No cell phones at our dinner table. When my kids and grandkids come to dinner it doesn't matter to Logic Rick And Morty Shirt if they're texting or not. I can look at them and appreciate them without constant chatter. If your kids don't want to talk to you, maybe you're the problem. There will be NO cell /Smart phones, texting, I PODs, Blackberries, Kindle tablets, selfies nor self sticks etc permitted at my dinner table and all TV's , Internet ,computers , video games etc are shut off!!! My land line phone will not be answered and the caller can leave a message on the machine -even that is turned down. I go out of my way to prepare a nice meal and I do not think it is right for someone to be talking on the phone while we are eating. This is hilarious! I took pics the other night of a couple at Cracker Barrel who from the time they sit down until they left looked at their cellphones either texting or answering. People begin to point and laugh, talking about them.. They were so DISTRACTED by their phones they didn't even know lol. These were not teenagers. They look to be in their late forties, maybe. I hate... seeing people texting or talking on the phone at times when they should be paying attention to what then are doing or is going on around them. If you have to do either of these when you are driving pull over and do it. Don't risk others lives or your own thinking it won't hurt just this once. Don't sit down to eat with Logic Rick And Morty Shirt, and set there and talk to someone on your cell phone or send or answer a text message. It is not so urgent that it can't wait.
